The Tillett "T5VTi" - Ultra Flexible is the most popular rigidity in the T5 range and is specially designed for small kids in the Micro MAX, Mini MAX, Cadet 9 and Cadet 12 categories. This extremely flexible seat allows the young drivers to get the maximum potential out of their kart.

The T5 kart seat is a World Championship winning product, used by Lando Norris and is nowadays predominantly used by younger or smaller drivers. The T5 has a flat bottom and a more upright back position. The 63° back angle allows a powerful shoulder turn, which helps the very young racers to keep good control by helping to put power into the steering and it also helps a shorter driver to see over the steering wheel.

All Tillett kart seats are made in the UK from high impact resistant, strong fibreglass, using Tillett's unique manufacturing process that guarantees perfect control of rigidity. The flat bottom gets your seat as low as possible and the deep sides give you ultimate support and reduce the risk ribs injuries.  A perfectly smooth surface front and rear makes your seat always look professional and clean.

CHOOSING YOUR NEW KART SEAT
There are many factors to consider when selecting a new kart seat. If you had a seat in the past - do you know the size and shape? Does it still fit? If not, where are the gaps or pressure points? Will the rigidity suit your new kart/engine combination?

Choosing a shape
Some would have you believe that shape doesn't make much of a difference but if the seat is not the right fit for you then the seat can cause a driver to damage their body, or hold themselves in the kart by using the steering wheel, neither of which are good for ultimate performance. A significant back angle change will alter the handling, especially for larger drivers.
The Tillett T5/63° is ideal for the 8 to 12 year old driver. The Tillett T11/58° is the most popular and most copied shape for adult sized kart. The T11 has a huge range of sizes to cater for drivers from 12 years up, slim hips, athletic torsos (or thick rib protectors), weight up to 130kg, etc.

Choosing a size
A good fit of the seat is essential for the protection of the driver and the handling of the kart. If a driver is loose in a seat they will pull down to steer with the inner hand, pulling themselves out of the kart and making it bounce at the slightest provocation.

Choosing a rigidity
Tillett Racing Seats were the first to discover that seat stiffness affected lap times. Changing the seat rigidity alters the amount of weight transferred to the outside front tyre, it is also partly responsible for the amount the inside rear wheel can lift through the corners. This gives you the ability to balance a chassis that may not be perfectly adjusted for the track surface, driving style or weather conditions.
